Scope 1 emissions in the Climate Hub

The Climate Hub enables the automated calculation of Scope 1 emissions.

The Climate Hub lists the Scope 1 categories Stationary combustion, Vehicle fleet (quantity), Vehicle fleet (km) and Refrigerants.

The Climate Hub already offers predefined emission sources with predefined emission factors for these four categories. They are clearly presented in the following table:

Category Emission sources
Stationary combustion

Heating oil (energy)
Heating oil (volume)
Natural gas (energy)

For these emission sources, the company can enter its consumption values in the Input column and select the unit of the input value. The emissions are then calculated automatically. These can be viewed in the display in the top right-hand corner for an initial assessment:

Customer-specific emission sources can also be added using the plus symbol in the bottom left-hand corner. A direct emission factor and an emission factor for the upstream chain must be specified for these emission sources. The energy source (renewable, crude oil/petroleum product, natural gas, coal, others) and the conversion factor of the specified unit in MWh are also required. The latter is required to ensure that all data points in ESRS E1-5: Energy consumption under Standards are fully specified.
