Which emission factors do we use?

The Climate Hub offers emission factors from the following databases, which are updated regularly:

• Umweltbundesamt (UBA) incl. ProBas (Prozessorientierte Basisdaten für Umweltmanagement-Instrumente)
• Federal Office for  Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA)
• Ecoinvent (factors only visible if a license is purchased)
• Institute for Energy and Environmental Research (IFEU)
• Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA)
• Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
• Oeko-Institut
• Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC)

The Climate Hub also allows you to search Climatiq's external database, giving our customers access to more than 500,000 emission factors from over 60 databases (as of May 2026).
