Deforestation Alerts
We search 90,000+ international sources in several languages daily for news in the context of deforestation and assigns them to the affected countries and (in future also) commodities. If such a message is assigned to the region of origin or the commodity of a batch and is not older than 6 months, you will see a warning message in the form of a small triangle symbol in the “Inbound (Geodata)” tab as part of the risk check. In this case, you should check the connected geodata. You can find out more about this in our Helpdesk.
How does this help you with your EUDR due diligence obligations?
In the case of countries that are rated as “low risk” countries in EU benchmarking, the EUDR requires an event-driven risk check of geolocations. In the case of countries that are rated as “standard and high risk” countries in the EU Benchmarking, the EUDR requires a risk assessment of any information and messages that suggest that there is a risk that the relevant geolocations are non-compliant, in accordance with Art. 10 2(m). This function supports you in identifying specific risk indications at an early stage and taking them into account in the risk analysis - automatically and already documented for later audits.
