I. General Information
The EUDR Due Diligence Task List is intended for companies that must comply with the European Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) as downstream operators or traders. It provides them with the results of the risk analysis of their inbound due diligence statements (DDS) and additionally the risk-based evaluation of their suppliers' procurement practices.
It is an overview of all incoming DDS, whether provided by the supplier or uploaded directly by the buyer (soon to be enabled).
II. Structure of the Inbound (DDS available) dashboard
The EUDR task list is divided into 2 areas:
1. KIP's
This area is used to derive aggregated analyses for all incoming due diligence statements and the suppliers behind them, which are listed below. The left-hand part, "DDS status", shows the result of the risk analysis for all incoming DDSs, whether they are available or, for example, not valid (no DDS). The right-hand part, "Responsible sourcing", shows a distribution of procurement practices in "Fully mature", "Mature", or "Premature".
2. Due Diligence Statement list
The second section of the DDS list is to enable a detailed evaluation of the risk analysis per DDS against EU-Traces and to filter accordingly.
III. Batch list structure and filter options
The DDS list is divided into 6 columns with the following attributes per individual DDS, which can be individually and easily customized using search and filter options.
- Reference number
- Activity code
- HS code
- Status
- Status changed
- Supplier
- Responsible Sourcing
IV. Logic of the risk analysis
For companies located downstream in the supply chain, the simplification under Art. 4(9) of the EUDR may apply, i.e., in this case, companies only need to ensure that due diligence has been properly carried out upstream. The establishment of the proper implementation of due diligence does not necessarily mean that each individual due diligence declaration submitted upstream must be systematically reviewed. For example, the downstream company could verify that upstream operators have a functional and up-to-date due diligence system in place, including appropriate and proportionate policies, controls, and procedures to mitigate and effectively manage the risks of non-compliance with the relevant products to ensure that due diligence is properly and regularly exercised. This can be achieved through the Responsible Sourcing Maturity Assessment.
The DDS risk analysis is based on the DDS status, which is checked in the EU Traces system for each due diligence declaration, in particular for:
Available:
The competent authority has approved the submission of the due diligence declaration. If it is assigned the status "Available", the system displays the reference number, which the user can then use to fulfill the legal requirements. In this case, the DDS is valid.
No DDS:
In this case, the reference or verification number provided by the supplier was incorrect. We recommend that you contact them.
