Correction of emission factors for heating oil and natural gas

This update corrects three emission factors that can be selected via the predefined activities:

• Heating oil (energy, net CV)
• Natural gas (energy, net CV)

Previously, both emission factors reflected gross CV values. They have now been corrected to net CV values in the GHG balance.

• Heating oil (volume)

Previously, the emission factor reflected fuel oil. This has now been corrected to gas oil in the GHG balance to better reflect medium oil used in diesel engines and heating systems.

The conversion factors in E1-5 for conversion of heating oil (from liters to MWh) and natural gas (from m3 to MWh) have also been updated to consistently reflect net CV values.

Action required: If you have used one of these factors, please trigger the calculation again to ensure you are using the updated values.
