PCF: Automatic calculation of biogenic and fossil carbon content for ecoinvent activities

When an ecoinvent activity is imported from the activity-based search, the biogenic and fossil carbon content is now calculated and populated automatically.

The calculation is based on the dry mass, the respective biogenic or fossil carbon content provided by ecoinvent, and the entered input value. Since the entered value is required for the calculation, the calculation is performed only after the activity has been saved.

• When an ecoinvent activity is imported, the biogenic and fossil carbon content fields are initially empty and cannot be edited manually.
• After saving the activity, both values are calculated automatically and populated in the corresponding fields.
• If the input value is changed, both carbon content values are recalculated when the activity is saved again.
• If the imported ecoinvent activity does not contain information on the respective carbon content, the corresponding field remains empty.
• If ecoinvent explicitly provides a value of 0, this is treated as an actual carbon content of 0.

Import from other databases (only valid for ISO) and manual input

When importing activities from other databases or manually entering factors, the biogenic and fossil carbon content must still be entered manually.
