I. What Is an Inbound DDS?
If you import EUDR-relevant products into the European Union, you are required to create a Due Diligence Statement (DDS) for the import.
This document confirms that you have fulfilled your due diligence obligations and that:
-
the products are deforestation-free, and
-
they have been produced in accordance with the applicable laws of the country of production.
When submitting your products for customs clearance, you must provide the reference number of the DDS.
This ensures that your goods can be clearly linked to a valid Due Diligence Statement.
For customs declaration, please use the following TARIC code:
TARIC Codes: TARIC document code C716 for a due diligence declaration. Further information can be found here: TARIC Data for the EUDR.
II. Automatic Creation
The VERSO Supply Chain Hub offers the option to automatically generate your Inbound DDS.
Further information on the automation rules can be found here.
III. Manual Creation
- Click EUDR > Transactions > Inbound Transactions.
- In the “DDS Status” column, click Create DDS for the respective transaction.
- The form will display all stored data required for the DDS creation. Click Create DDS at the bottom right to finalize the process.

Attention: A Due Diligence Statement (DDS) can only be created if all batches within the transaction are EUDR-compliant. If one or more batches in the transaction are not compliant, the “DDS Status” column will display the status “Non-compliant.” In this case, go to EUDR > Due Diligence and review the corresponding batches. Further information on the risk analysis can be found here.
If the status “Missing data” is displayed, it means that the supplier has not yet provided any data.
IV. Export
- Go to EUDR > Own DDS.
- In the Inbound DDS tab, you will find your Due Diligence Statements (DDS) for imports.
- To export the DDS, click “Export to Excel” in the top right corner (coming soon).
