PCF: Updates in CSV Upload

February 9th, 2026

The CSV upload in the PCF has been extended and optimised. In addition to improvements to the user interface, new columns have been added, existing columns have been renamed, and obsolete columns have been removed.

🆕 New Columns

Primary data share in %
The primary data share describes the data quality of an emission factor or a supplier PCF. It indicates the proportion of primary activity data and emission factors compared to estimated and secondary data.
If no primary data share is provided, a value of 0% is assumed.

Source details
This column allows you to specify the source of the emission factor in more detail, e.g. EXIOBASE 3.8.2. This is particularly useful when the emission factor originates from a database. For climatiq, the value corresponds to the field “Source dataset”.

Name of factor from source
This column contains the original name of the emission factor as stated in the respective database. Providing the original name helps you and your auditors to clearly trace and verify the emission factors used.

Emission factor (biogenic)
This column contains the activity-specific emission factor resulting from biogenic carbon uptake.
If available, the biogenic share of a supplier PCF can also be entered here. Please note that the supplier PCF must be adjusted to your declared / functional unit.

✏️ Renamed Columns

Emission factor → Emission factor (fossil)
The specific emission factor for the activity is entered in this column, without taking biogenic carbon uptake into account. If a supplier's product carbon footprint (PCF) is available, this can also be entered directly in this column. Please note that your supplier's PCF must be adjusted to your declared/functional unit.

Verification level of supplier factor → Verification level
This column indicates whether the emission factor or supplier PCF has been verified and whether the verification was carried out internally or externally. The column can be used for database emission factors, individual emission factors, and supplier PCFs alike. For this reason, the column name has been generalized.

🗑️ Removed Columns

Year of supplier PCF
The start year of the supplier PCF must now be entered in the column “Source year”.
