Data analysis

After entering the consumption data, analyses can be carried out by scope, GHG categories and locations.

After entering the consumption data, the data can be analysed. For this purpose, the Climate Hub offers various analyses via the Analysis tab in the top-level navigation.

The first step is to use the dropdown to select the location or structural element to be analysed.  On the left-hand side, the two checkboxes Include sub-structure or Without sub-structure can be used to select whether the subsidiaries or sub-locations should be included in the analysis or not. Analyses can then be carried out by scope, category or location and the balance sheet can be displayed. For each of the three tabs Scopes, Categories or Locations, the graphic can be downloaded as an image using the button in the top right-hand corner.

Analysis by scope:

The analysis by scope provides the user with an overview of which of the three scopes accounts for the largest share of the balance sheet. The individual scopes can be clicked on, allowing the individual categories of the corresponding scope to be analysed at a more detailed level. Clicking again enables an analysis at activity level for the corresponding category.

Analysis by category:

The analysis by category allows the user to analyse which categories cause the most emissions in the individual scopes. By clicking on one of the bars, the analysis can be carried out at activity level for the corresponding category.

Analysis by location:

The analysis by location allows the user to analyse which location causes the most emissions. It should be noted that all locations are always displayed by default in this tab.

Balance sheet:

The company can use the Balance sheet tab to view its emissions balance sheet, in which the emissions per category are shown and totalled for the individual scopes. Both market-based and location-based emissions are calculated for Scope 2 emissions and total emissions. The approach marked in bold - here market-based - corresponds to the approach selected by the company.

The proportion of biogenic emissions is shown outside the balance sheet. It also lists separately which greenhouse gases are included in the balance and in what proportions.

All three tables can be copied and pasted into Excel using the respective button on the top right-hand side of the table.
